Four interpretations, four perspectives, a complete and profound exploration of spiritual freedom.
Every gaze, it turns into a question posed to oneself.
Patrick Chiu, Artistic Director of the SingFest, collaborates with Music Director Dominic Lam and Music Adaptation Jason Liu, alongside Dance & Movement Therapist Michelle Chan, to meticulously deconstruct and reweave Bach’s classic - St. Matthew Passion into melodies that touch the soul. By focusing on “Mourning, Regret, Betrayal, and Righteousness” as the ultimate questions. Guiding the audience to settle into the same space, gaze into the depths of their hearts, reflect upon themselves, reconnect, and embark on a contemplative journey spanning millennia.
Mourning | 25.6.2026 7:30 PM, 9:15 PM
A farewell none could stop. A goodbye left unsaid. With one last tender touch, practicing the eternal parting.
Regret | 26.6.2026 7:30 PM, 9:15 PM
A heart with private desire torn — hardened in a moment, forged that night's deepest betrayal.
Betrayal | 27.6.2026 3:00 PM, 5:30 PM
Three denials — bedrock crumbled to sand. That unshakable vow: never to be reclaimed, never pieced back together.
Righteousness | 28.6.2026 3:00 PM, 5:30 PM
Waterdrops flow while guilt remains deep in the palm. That verdict unjust — surrender by fear and compromise.
